FABRICATION, INSTALLATION & COMMISSIONING
SITE SURVEYS
USING LASER SCAN TECHNOLOGY TO CAPTURE INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL SITE INFORMATION, EACH PROJECT IS ACCURATELY SURVEYED PRIOR TO ANY WORK BEING UNDERTAKEN.
POINT CLOUD DATA PRODUCED DURING LASER SCANNING WILL BE USED TO DETERMINE THE POSITION OF EXISTING SERVICES, STRUCTURAL AND ARCHITECTURAL ELEMENTS, AND TO ENSURE SUITABLE LOCATIONS FOR PROPOSED NEW SERVICES AND REQUIRED BUILDERSWORK.
DESIGN SUPPORT
ALL VENTILATION SYSTEMS ARE MODELLED IN 3D TO INDUSTRY STANDARDS INCLUDING BESA DW144 AND DW172. SYSTEM RESISTANCE, PRESSURE DROP, AND VELOCITIES ARE CALCULATED AND VERIFIED USING MAGICAD, A CIBSE VERIFIED ADD-IN FOR REVIT. FULL REPORTS PROVIDING EVIDENCE OF SYSTEM CALCULATIONS CAN BE PROVIDED UPON REQUEST.
SYSTEM MODELLING
Improved coordination and collaboration, automated schedules and ease of documentation are just some of the reasons projects undertaken by Maskot are done so using Autodesk’s Revit.
From initial concept, to full design, and record drawings, a single model is created containing all the relevant data for that project.
All outputs from the BIM model, DWG, pdf, NWD, including the BIM model itself are stored on Autodesk Construction Cloud, a construction software solution complying with ISO19650.
FABRICATION
We manufacture complete systems using rectangular, circular and oval ductwork, to low, medium and high pressure specifications.
Our fabricators have a high level of expertise in light gauge steelwork and custom sheet metal fabrications, as well as special paint finishes such as powder coating, wet spray and etch priming. Where required, we can also provide specially fabricated ductwork, such as stainless steel, uPVC and polypropylene, as well as specialised components and assemblies such as acoustic housings and mixing boxes.
Our systems meet industry standards including BESA DW/144 and DW/172 specifications, and can provide fire rating to BS 476 part 24 and EN 1366-1, for stability, integrity and insulation
Installation & commissioning
Our installation teams have experience in a wide range of system types and duct materials, including galvanized, stainless steel, UPVC flat ducting (inc. pre-insulated), PVC, polypropylene, and fire rated.
All installations follow a set of fully coordinated designs, and prior to the commencement of any work, risk assessments and method statements are produced to ensure a safe working environment is maintained at all times.
Following installation all systems are functionally tested and commissioned in accordance WITH bsRIA GUIDELINES AND CIBSE CODE A, to ensure each is balanced and performs in the way it was designed providing confidence in the life expectancy and running costs of capital plant.
HANDOVER & POST PROJECT SUPPORT
From appointment to handover and on-going support (as agreed) Maskot Projects will closely oversee each stage of the project to ensure a satisfactory outcome. During design, drawings can be submitted for approval, during installation there will be a working site supervisor available to assist with day-to-day management of the works with the main contractor/client and associated trades.
At handover a complete set of record drawings and O&Ms can be made available. Following hand over Maskot projects can offer a program of ongoing support that will ensure optimum performance of installed ventilation systems is maintained, and ensure continued compliance with any regulatory requirements.
